I composed a number of piano pieces over the years. Why? is one of the first compositions which I feel my emotions flowing through as I’m playing it. Please enjoy.
This is my second favorite song from 步步驚心 just because it was played less than 三寸天堂. 等你的季節 also has the kind of melody that I like. In addition, I felt 劉詩詩’s voice fit well with the song’s style. For the reasons above, this is the second piano arrangement I made for this popular TV drama.
How many of you consume on a daily basis. We don’t need a lot of brain power to do that, so it’s easy to do without much thought. What about creating something of value?
Recently, I watched a documentary, Samsara (2011). Some scenes aren’t for everyone, but I’m very glad, as someone in my 20s living in a developed country that I got to watch it. It was thought-provoking to say the least. It made me step back and take a look at how lucky we are, but also how much we consume everyday, whether it’d be eating too much, playing too much video games, watching too much TVB dramas (which I’m certainly guilty of at times),…
I wasn’t exactly satisfied with my piano arrangement for this song, so I’m still scratching my head with regards to why people are still requesting for this sheet music after this TVB series has ended so long. Anyway, I found my hand-written copy and finally inputted it. I hope you enjoy playing this piece.
I arranged this theme song a long time ago. It was a hand draft that apparently only I can understand.
That’s right! There are no bar lines, and sometimes the key signature is wrong. (I only realize that when I input the sheet music digitally.) So, this may explain a little bit why it takes me so long to arrange a song. ^^!
The 步步驚心 Chinese drama is one of the best I’ve seen, talking about a modern girl going back in time to the Qing Dynasty. I especially like the 三寸天堂 theme song because it has a nice melody and was played so many times throughout the drama.
This is the first song that I tried to do a piano accompaniment for, and I actually worked on that first before deciding to do the piano solo as I have more experience in arranging a solo than for a piano accompaniment. I played this piece so many times that I lost emotion when playing it, and had to listen to the original song to capture it again, which makes me wonder how artists keep singing the same song over and over and still sing with emotion beautifully. :p
